Palm Canyon

On our second day in sunny Palm Springs, we went hiking to the Palm Canyon in the Agua Caliente Indian Reservation, home of the Cahuilla Indian tribe. A 15 miles long beautiful natural reserve with the abundance of indigenous California Fan Palms, cacti, and other breathtaking flora. Our first stop was the Trading Post where we were equipped with hiking maps, refreshments, and an insightful talk from one of the rangers who told us the story of the region, Cahuilla people and some of their legends. Then we were finally able to proceed with our journey. Peacefulness and magnificent views of the nature’s creation was something we will definitely remember for long. Despite the ubiquitous drought in California, special containers with water were prepared for the hummingbirds inhabiting the territory, which demonstrates great care of the Trading Post workers.
